The faculty of the Library and Information Science department of Nowrosjee Wadia College Program educates students at the bachelor levels to become best in libraries, archives, and information centers. The faculty, staff, and students of the Program constitute a community of learners in support of this mission. The department aims to prepare individuals for positions of responsibility in the field of library and information service and to contribute to the development of knowledge in the area. The desire is not simply to ensure that each gains adequate employment, but to prepare graduates to assume responsible positions in libraries and information centers. Faculty is expected, through their instructional and service activities, to contribute tangibly to the development of the knowledge base that makes Library and Information Science a discipline as well as a profession. Our, mission is in line with the mission of the college and intend to make it a better place for teaching and learning.
We have been able to make a visible impact in LIS education in India through our accomplishments in terms of our programs and activities- particularly our curriculum innovations, Lectures, short-term training programs, seminars and visits to different institutions.
Library and Information Science department of Nowrosjee Wadia College has a Recognized guide name as Dr. A. M. Pandit completed in 1999 with topic “7th Edition of colon classification” and area of specialization “Classification Theory” and “Digitisation of Library”.
